Bandung, Indonesia Insider

Bandung, Indonesia Insider

If you find yourself in Bandung Indonesia make sure to check out these destinations.
In this guide you can learn more about what hotels to stay at, where to eat, what activities are there, and how to get around.
If you haven't already booked your flight to this amazing destination, you can book with several different airlines. EVA Air, ANA Air, Singapore Airlines, Korean Air, and Delta.
In my personal opinion flying with Delta was not the most comfortable method, as some of Delta's air crafts could be older models with lacking amenities on board. Versus flying with ANA, which really makes your money feel worth. ANA provides amazing services and their staff really takes care of you. Their food is better quality and more delicious. Plus their amenities and technologies are up to date.
If you are visiting from somewhere more local on Java Indonesia OR trying to get around, you can take the train. Where it connects all the major cities. The trains are cheap, comfortable and air-conditioned, the ideal way to get around. On the other hand, there are buses that can also take you around and they come more frequently than the trains. The downside is that traffic is crazy. If you are from the States where traffic is moderate or organized. This could be a nightmare.

Are you looking for a hotel? There is amazing selection of beautiful and affordable hotels. Some of our favorite hotels are 'The Trans Luxury Hotel Bandung', 'Crowne Plaza', and 'Padma Hotel Bandung'. All providing amazing scenery, amenities, delicious foods, and more.

The Trans Luxury Hotel Bandung - $89 USD

Crowne Plaza Suite - $120 USD

Padma Hotel Bandung - $84 USD

Even though you could spend your whole vacation at the hotel, there is more to see, eat, and do in Bandung. Some of these activities could be just right outside. For example The Trans Luxury Hotel connects to The Trans Studio Mall and inside the mall is an indoor amusement park for under $20 USD! For the strong Muslim community there is a Trans Studio Mosque connected too. That mimics the mosque in Medina in Saudi Arabia. Which is a whole attraction itself.

If your are someone that is naturally attracted to malls and shopping. Paris Van Java Mall (PVJ) is an amazing place to visit. PVJ will amaze anyone with their exotic architecture. PVJ will allow you to experience a Cinema with Queen sized beds and dining tables. You can also find karaoke, delicious foods, luxury brands, and even some unique attractions like a small petting farm on the roof, a mini zoo, a flower garden, even an ice skating rink. That is a lot to take in and explore, but don't worry, you can rent a segway to tour your way around the mall.

Are you wanting to continue your shopping spree, there is a famous floating market in Bandung you must check out. You can walk or rent a variety of small boats, that you can paddle your way to floating shops. All serving traditional foods and various other goods. Sounds like fun! Just don't tip over.

Wanting to experiencing some sub cultures in Bandung, there is a Bandung Chinatown. Like other Chinatown's you can experience Chinese attractions, traditions, and Chinese culinary. All while being surrounded by stunning traditional Chinese architecture. If you like taking pictures for Instagram or Facebook, here is an amazing spot!

Seeking Indonesian culture, there is a very popular traditional music orchestra with dancing, traditional puppets, and much more. By the Bamboo Performance Bandung.
If you are someone that is interested in exploring outdoors. There is Kawah Putih, about 50 kilometers south of Bandung. It is a crater lake in Mount Patuha. Depending on traffic, it would take about 2 hours to get there.

With all this adventuring, you are probably looking for a bite to eat. Lucky for you Bandung is a very culinary driven city. The competition is very intense, but here are some of our favorites. Our top favorite eating establishment is more of a personal favorite. That it is our own restaurant. Ampera Suci, is traditional Sudanese cuisine,  all halal.

Maybe you are a huge sushi lover or just in the mood for some delicious Japanese food. Go to Sushi Tei, a relaxed Japanese eatery serving cooked fare & creative sushi rolls, plus beer, wine & sake.

Wanting to go some where with some great views, a good option is Lawangwangi creative space.

Another great spot for amazing scenery is Pinisi resto. A pirate ship, but on land?! Great for taking pictures!
Lastly on our list of eating establishments, Dusun bambu. Dusun Bambu Family Leisure Park becomes a park in the mountain feet that provide education and recreation facilities. Dusun Bambu Family Leisure Park is an eco-tourism spot. And they value the conception of &E the represents seven aspect of life: Ecology (nature), Education, Economic, Ethology (culture), Ethics, Esthetics (Aesthetics), and Entertainment.
